§ 43A.02. Proclamation by Mayor.

  • (a)

    If the Governor has not declared a state of emergency within the City of Orlando and/or the Mayor determines that there exists one or more of the circumstances set forth in Section 43A.01(a), and on account thereof, there is reason to believe that there exists a state of emergency as defined in Section 43A.01(a), the Mayor may declare that a state of emergency exists within the City, or any part or parts thereof, and invoke the automatic and discretionary prohibitions detailed below, or any of them.

    (b)

    The Mayor shall forthwith proclaim in writing the existence of the same, and file a copy thereof with the Chief of Police, Chief of Fire Department, and the City Clerk. The Mayor shall also give prompt notice thereof to all local newspapers of general circulation and to radio or television or other news media as reasonably deemed advisable.
