§ 61.343. Parking Facility Restriction.

(a)

Within the Downtown Parking Area the number of spaces provided in a parking lot shall not exceed 25% of the total amount of required spaces. The remaining number of required parking spaces shall be provided in a parking garage.

(b)

City Council may waive the requirements in (a) above, upon recommendation by the Municipal Planning Board, where circumstances clearly indicate that the standard requirements would create a situation wherein the number of required parking spaces is insufficient to justify, from either a financial or structural feasibility standpoint, the construction of a parking garage.
