§ 61.352. Number of Loading Berths.
(a)
Required Number. All non-residential, industrial, and office uses, except banks and savings institutions, shall provide loading berths. Uses of less than 3,000 sq. ft. GFA must provide a minimum of 1 berth meeting the dimensions below for a delivery truck berth. Uses of 3,000 sq. ft. GFA or greater must provide 1 berth meeting the minimum dimensions below for a loading berth.
Multi-family uses with more than ten residential units, and structured parking, shall require one loading berth. In the case of multiple uses within a single building, the required number of berths shall be based on the total gross floor area (GFA) of the uses listed above in the building. Where loading berths are provided in excess of these standards, the exact number of berths shall be at the option of the developer based upon the needs of the particular use(s). All loading facilities provided shall comply with the development standards of this Part.
(b)
Determinations by the Transportation Official. The Transportation Official shall be authorized to require additional loading berths be provided when the number of loading berths proposed is insufficient for the needs of the particular use(s), based on the standards and guidelines of the Institute of Transportation Engineers. Appeals to such determinations shall be made through City Council.
