§ 62.308. Standards for Office Development.

  • The following standards shall apply to all new office development, office additions and remodeling which does not include at least 50% residential floor area:

    Scale and Massing. Each office building which exceeds 3,000 square feet in floor area shall be so designed as to be broken up into distinct subareas having an average floor area of not over 3,000 square feet each.

    Architectural Style. The exterior architectural style of the development shall be compatible to residential use. Wherever possible, existing residential structures shall be encouraged to be converted for office use rather than demolished and replaced by new structures.

    Building Materials. Building materials and structures shall be consistent with surrounding residences.

    Parking and Paving Surfaces. Excessive paving and parking surfaces shall be avoided. Parking in excess of the minimum required number of spaces for the proposed office shall not be permitted. Parking lots located under elevated buildings shall be prohibited unless enclosed or concealed from public view.
