§ 65.111. Board Membership and Officers.
Membership. The Board shall consist of nine (9) members nominated by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council. Members shall be the residents of the City and shall not at the same time serve as members of the Municipal Planning Board. At least four (4) members shall be chosen from one or more of the following organizations, professions or groups:
(a)
land planning;
(b)
architecture;
(c)
landscape architecture;
(d)
graphic design or commercial art;
(e)
urban design; and
(f)
interior design.
Terms of Members. The terms of office shall be as provided in Chapter 2, Article XV of the City Code.
Filling Vacancies. Vacancies shall be filled by appointment for the unexpired term only. A member whose term expires shall continue to serve until his successor is appointed and qualifies.
Removal from Office. Members may be removed for cause by a majority vote of the City Council.
Officers. The Board shall annually elect a Chairman and Vice-Chairman and may create and fill other offices and committees as needed.
Executive Secretary and Staff Assistants. There shall be an Executive Secretary appointed by the Board, who shall serve as the custodian of all Board records. He need not be a member of the Board; however, if he is not a member he shall not be entitled to vote. Professional and clerical assistants, in connection with the performance of the functions of the Board, shall be provided as directed by the City Council.
Funding and Compensation. Members shall not receive salary; however, they may receive travel and other expenses as fixed by the City Council while on approved City business for the Board. The City Council shall appropriate at its discretion funds necessary to carry out the duties of the Board.
