§ 65.202. General Functions, Powers and Duties.

  • Inspections. The Public Works Director shall order inspections of property in an effort to obtain information relating to violations and in other instances where inspections are necessary to insure compliance with the provisions of this Chapter for which he is responsible.

    Entering on Property. The Public Works Director, in the performance of his duties, may enter upon any land during reasonable hours and make examinations and surveys that do not occasion damage or injury to private property.

    Violations. The Public Works Director shall order prompt investigation of complaints and violations of the provisions of this Chapter for which he is responsible, and shall endeavor to prevent violations or detect and secure corrections of violations. He shall also initiate lawful action necessary to insure compliance with or prevent violation of such provisions of this Chapter.

    Maintain Records. The Public Works Director shall maintain all records pertaining to the provision of this Chapter for which he is responsible and have such records open for public inspection.

    Interpretation of Boundaries. The Public Works Director shall interpret the exact location of the boundaries established by this Chapter for which he is responsible (for example, where there appears to be a conflict between a mapped boundary and actual physical conditions).

    Files and Applications. The Public Works Director shall be responsible for the receipt, review for completeness and substantial compliance, official acceptance, and maintenance of current and permanent files, applications and records for all permits and approvals required by this Chapter for which he is responsible.

    Public Distribution of Documents. The Public Works Director shall ensure that there are a supply of copies for public distribution of the Orlando Urban Stormwater Management Manual (OUSWMM), the Engineering Standards Manual (ESM).

    Provide Assistance. The Public Works Director shall provide such administrative, technical and consultative assistance as may be required by the Municipal Planning Board and other board and agencies of the City, in the exercise of their duties relating to this Chapter.

    Other. The Public Works Director shall perform such other duties and functions as are required by the provisions of this Chapter.
