§ 65.512. Applications for Certificates of Appearance Approval.

  • Pre-application conference. Before preparing an application for certificate of appearance approval, applicants should meet with the Appearance Review Official to discuss the proposed work, the application submittal requirements, and the process for review of the application.

    Applications. Applications for certificates of appearance approval must be made by completing an application form as provided by the Appearance Review Official. The application must indicate what information and materials must be submitted along with the application form. Information and material required by the application must be described with particularity and must conform to typical design industry standards. A complete application must include or be accompanied by certification that the applicant has the authority to undertake the work proposed in the application.

    Completeness review. Within five days of receiving an application for a certificate of appearance approval, the Appearance Review Official must issue a written determination to the applicant indicating whether the application is complete. If the application is determined to be incomplete, the Appearance Review Official must so inform the applicant in writing and detail what material or information must be submitted in order to complete the application.
