Triennially, the Committee shall review the established policies and procedures, ordinances,
land development regulations, and adopted local comprehensive plan of the City of
Orlando and shall recommend to the Mayor and City Council specific actions or initiatives
to encourage or facilitate affordable housing while protecting the ability of property
to appreciate in value. The recommendations may include the adoption, modification,
or repeal of policies, procedures, ordinances, regulations, or plan provisions, including
recommendations to amend the local comprehensive plan and corresponding regulations,
ordinances, and other policies, and/or the creation of exceptions applicable to affordable
housing. At a minimum, the Committee shall make recommendations on, and triennially
thereafter evaluate the implementation of, affordable housing incentives in the areas
set forth in F.S. § 420.9076.
The Committee's recommendations may also include other affordable housing incentive
strategies identified by the Committee.
