§ 9. Disability Pensions; Line of Duty.

  • (1)

    Any active member of the police department who shall become permanently and totally disabled, if the disability is directly caused by and attributable to the performance of duty as a member of the department, shall be entitled to a monthly pension computed as though said member had completed a full 25 years of credited service pursuant to section 6 of this retirement plan.

    (2)

    Upon the death of such member while on disability pension pursuant to this section, a widow or widower and issue in being under the age of 18 years shall be entitled to a monthly pension in the manner set forth in section 6(2), (3), (4), (5), and (6) of this retirement plan.
