§ 8. Pension for Death in Line of Duty.

  • If any active member of said fire department shall die in the performance of the member's duties as a member of said department, or as a direct result thereof, benefits shall be paid pursuant to Section 33(1)(b), for a firefighter who had not yet completed ten (10) years of credited service; or Section 33(2)(a) or Section 33(2)(c), whichever is applicable, for a firefighter who had completed ten (10) years of credited service. For a firefighter who had completed ten (10) years of credited service, Section 35(1) shall also apply. The amount of the monthly pension shall be as set forth in Section 14(5)(b).
