§ 4-2. City Attorney and Staff; Prosecuting Attorney.
The attorney and legal counsel for the City of Orlando, who shall be appointed as provided by Ordinance of said City, shall be designated as "City Attorney" of said City and shall perform such duties as may be provided by the City Council as set forth in any general or special law of the State of Florida applicable to the City of Orlando. The term "City Attorney" shall be deemed to include, and he shall perform any duties heretofore required of the official designated as "City Solicitor" by the laws of Florida or Ordinances of the City of Orlando. The City Council may provide by Ordinance for the appointment of such number of Assistant City Attorneys as deemed necessary by the City Council, and such Assistants shall be authorized to perform any and all acts authorized by the City Attorney. The City Council may also provide by Ordinance for the appointment of a Prosecuting Attorney for the municipal court of said City and may designate such Prosecuting Attorney as "City Solicitor."
