§ 6. Street Improvement Lien Book.

  • As soon as practicable after the issuing of any certificate of indebtedness as aforesaid, the City Clerk shall cause to be entered in a book kept for that purpose known as the "Street Improvement Lien Book" the date of each certificate, the lot described therein, the amount due according to the certificate and when due, together with such other information as the City Council may by ordinance or resolution prescribe. Upon the payment of any certificate so entered, the holder shall produce the certificate to the clerk for cancellation and the clerk shall cancel the said certificate as well as the record thereof on the Street Improvement Lien Book and in the event that the whole amount of said certificate is not paid, the clerk shall enter upon the back of such certificate and in said book the amount paid and the date of payment. All certificates when issued and entered as aforesaid shall be liens upon the property described therein and the liens thereof shall date back to the completion of the work on the improvement for which the said certificates were issued.
