§ 2.97. Extension of Benefits.
It is hereby declared to be the policy and purpose of the City to extend effective as of January 1, 1959, to certain employees and officials thereof in the position of police officer and not to exclude by law nor excepted herein the benefits of the system of old age and survivors' insurance as authorized by the Federal Social Security Act and amendments thereto and by Florida Statutes ch. 650, as amended; and to cover by such plan all of their services which constitute employment as defined in Florida Statutes § 650.02, performed in the employ of the City, except duties performed as reserve police officers in private employment.
