§ 61.222. Requirements for Specific Types of Streets.
Cul-de-Sacs. Cul-de-sacs for local streets shall not exceed the following standards:
(a)
One Family Developments: not over 30 dwelling units.
(b)
Other Residential Developments: not over 700 ft. in length.
(c)
Non-Residential Developments: (Reserved).
Design specifications for Cul-de-Sac turn-arounds shall be as follows:
(a)
Minimum Right-of-way Width: 100 ft.
(b)
Minimum Pavement Width: 80 ft.
One-Way Local Streets. One-way local streets may be permitted at the discretion of the City Public Works Director and Planning Official where the proposed street may not exceed 1 block in length. Their determination shall be based on the environmental constraints of the site; the contribution to improved site design made by the proposed street; the number of dwelling units to be served; the affect which the street may have on traffic flow, traffic volumes and safety in the area; and the length of the proposed street.
