§ 62.301. Applications Review by Appearance Review Official.

  • Building Permits. After the designation of any AR District, any development application within the district requiring a building permit and involving an exterior alteration visible from the public right-of-way shall be referred to the Appearance Review Official. Based on the application, the standards of this district and the District Report for the area in question, the Appearance Review Official shall approve, approve with conditions, or deny the application, stating in writing the reasons for any denial.

    Other Applications Review. Upon acceptance by the Planning and Development Department of any application within an AR District which requires review by the Technical Review Committee, Municipal Planning Board, or Board of Zoning Adjustment, the application shall be forwarded to the Appearance Review Official. Based on the application, the standards of this district and the District Report for the area in question, the Appearance Review Official shall prepare recommendations for the consideration of the applicable reviewing authority.
