§ 62.605. Specific Standards.
Facade Material. Exterior facade materials for new construction shall be consistent with the materials used in the Traditional City residential structures: wood siding, stucco, masonry, a combination as shown in Figure 50 (Compatible Facade Materials), or a material that simulates another material. The Appearance Review Official shall approve an alternative material upon documentation that 51% or more of the structures on the same block face and the block face across the street are constructed of that material.
The exterior facade material for an addition or renovation shall either be the same as the existing building, a combination as shown in Figure 50 (Compatible Facade Materials), or a material that simulates another material. The Appearance Review Official shall approve an alternative material for the expansion which is constructed of the same material as the existing structure.

Roof Styles. Roof styles for new construction shall be consistent with those used on Traditional City residential structures such as gable, gambrel, hip, jerkinhead, parapet, pyramidal, or shed. Mansard roofs shall be prohibited. The Appearance Review Official shall approve an alternative roof style for new construction upon documentation that 51% or more of the structures on the same block and across the street are constructed of that style.
The roof style for an addition shall either be the same as the existing building or shall be a combination as shown in Figure 50 (Compatible Roof Styles). The Appearance Review Official shall also approve an alternative roof style for an expansion if the new roof is constructed in the same style as the existing roof.
Windows. Additions shall have the same window size as in the principal structure. Window size shall be unrestricted for construction of new structures.
