§ 65.191. Assistants.
In the performance of his duties, the Planning Director may request and shall be provided with assistance of such other persons as the City Council may direct. He is authorized to act through such aides and assistants, which shall include the following:
Building Official. The Building Official shall be the principal assistant to the Planning Director for the administration of building construction and permitting, and for such other responsibilities as he may be specifically assigned by this Chapter. Unless otherwise specified herein, appeals to his decisions shall be referred to the Construction Codes Board of Adjustment.
Planning Official. The Planning Official shall be the principal assistant to the Planning Director for the administration of discretionary matters related to planning, zoning and land uses, and for such other responsibilities as he may be specifically assigned by this Chapter. Unless otherwise specified herein, appeals to his decisions shall be referred to the Municipal Planning Board.
Zoning Official. The Zoning Official shall be the principal assistant of the Planning Director for the administration of nondiscretionary matters related to zoning and land use, and for such other responsibilities as he may be specifically assigned by this Chapter. Unless otherwise specified herein, appeals to his decisions shall be referred to the Board of Zoning Adjustment.
Appearance Review Official. The Appearance Review Official shall be the principal assistant to the Planning Director for the administration of appearance review standards and procedures established by this Chapter, and for such other responsibilities as he may be specifically assigned by this Chapter. Within the Downtown Development District shown on Figure 1 the Appearance Review Official shall coordinate with the DDB Development Review Committee on all reviews. Unless otherwise specified herein, appeals to his decisions shall be referred to the Appearance Review Appeals Board.
