§ 65.481. Initiation of Land Development Code Amendments.
(a)
Text amendments to the Land Development Code may be initiated only by the Mayor or the City Council.
Mayor. The Mayor shall initiate a proposed Land Development Code text amendment by directing the Planning Official to proceed with an amendment proposal in accordance with the procedures of this Part.
City Council. The City Council shall initiate a proposed Land Development Code text amendment by adopting a motion directing the Planning Official to proceed with an amendment proposal in accordance with the procedures of this Part.
(b)
The Municipal Planning Board and the Planning Official may recommend that the Mayor or the City Council initiate text amendments to the Land Development Code.
Municipal Planning Board. The Municipal Planning Board shall recommend a proposed Land Development Code text amendment by adopting a motion recommending that either the Mayor or the City Council initiate the proposed text amendment in accordance with subsection (a).
Planning Official. The Planning Official shall recommend a proposed Land Development Code text amendment by requesting that the Mayor initiate the proposed text amendment in accordance with subsection (a).
