§ 65.593. Dredging Over 400 Cubic Yards.

  • If more than four hundred cubic yards of material is to be dredged from a lake, the application shall include:

    (a)

    A Boundary and Topographic/Hydrographic Survey and complete description of the property affected, including the distance any contemplated land fill created as the result of the dredging will extend into the lake from the existing shore line.

    (b)

    Maximum elevations and quantities of any proposed land fill.

    (c)

    Earliest date of commencement and latest proposed date of completion of dredging operation.

    (d)

    Provisions for any drainage facilities crossing the fill area.

    (e)

    A contour map of the lake bottom lying in front of the land to be filled. This map shall be made by an engineer or surveyor, registered in the State, and will show the present lake bottom and any impermeable seal of clay, rock or hardpan under the lake bottom for the purpose of establishing the maximum permitted depth of any dredging, which will be determined by the City Engineer.

    (f)

    The applicant shall designate on the application the person or firm to be responsible for engineering, supervision and inspection service to insure compliance with specifications established and shall agree to assume the cost of such service.

    (g)

    If dredge filling is made for future building or residential construction, the applicant shall submit suitable information in his application regarding soil borings and engineer evaluation for suitability of foundation support of the dredge fill before a building permit may be granted.
