§ 49. Civil Service Status.

  • In the event that the head of the division of communications or any employee thereof should at the time of his or her appointment, hold or enjoy a civil service status under any general or special law governing civil service for the police department, fire department, or any other department of the City of Orlando, then and in that event such person shall continue to hold and enjoy such civil service status with all the rights, privileges, and immunities incidental thereto while serving within the division of communications; provided, however, that said division of communications and all of the employees thereof, including the head of said division, shall be responsible to and subject to regulation and control by the City Council.
