§ 2. Licenses.

City licenses shall issue, be transferred and expire as may be provided by ordinance, and the penalties within the limits of the general law relating to cities and towns may be inflicted for carrying on any business, professional or occupation for which a city license is required, without first obtaining such license. A license tax on dogs kept within the City may be imposed, and dogs on which the required license tax shall not be paid, may be killed under such circumstances as the ordinance may provide.
