§ 2.69. Amendment after Adoption.

  • Upon and after the adoption of each annual budget, the budget, or any item thereof, may be amended in accordance with Section 2.70 of this Code or by resolution of the City Council at any regular or special meeting thereof, by a two-thirds ( 2/3 ) majority of the members of the Council present and with the approval and consent of the duly elected Mayor; provided, that if the Mayor shall fail to signify, in writing, his approval of such resolution within ten (10) days from the adoption thereof, the resolution shall become effective and operate as an amendment of the budget without the Mayor's approval; provided further, that if within ten (10) days from the adoption thereof the Mayor shall, in writing, signify his disapproval of such resolution, the City Council at the next regular meeting thereof may adopt such resolution notwithstanding such disapproval of the Mayor by a six-sevenths ( 6/7 ) majority of the members thereof.
