§ 61.232. Private Street Names.

  • The naming of all private streets shall conform to Chapter 65, Part 4I.

    Private Street Name Changes. The name of any private street shall not be changed without the approval of the City Engineer at least 15 days before the proposed name change. The proposed name change shall be approved if it is in compliance with this Code and the street name has not been changed at the initiative of the private street owner within the preceding one year period.

    Existing Private Street Names. The names of all existing private streets are subject to the review of the City Engineer for compliance with this Code. In the event the City Engineer determines that an existing private street name is not in compliance with this Code, the City Engineer shall notify the owner of the street and direct him or her to bring the street name or the posting of the street name into compliance with this Code within 60 days.
