§ 2. City May Purchase at Foreclosure Sale and Dispose of Real Property.

  • City of Orlando, a municipal corporation is hereby authorized and empowered to bid and become the purchaser of judicial sales of real estate sold pursuant to foreclosure decree in suits wherein City of Orlando may be a party, either as complainant or defendant whether such suit be for foreclosure of state and county tax certificates or deed or delinquent City taxes certified for foreclosure according to law, provided, however, that the amount so bid at any such time shall not exceed the amount which in the discretion of the governing authority, shall be necessary to protect the interest which City of Orlando may have in the property by reason of lien for city taxes, redeemed state and county taxes of special assessment liens, and to perfect the title to and to dispose of said property at such times and for such price as may seem to the governing authority of City of Orlando to the best interests of the taxpayers of City of Orlando.
