§ 12. Election to Authorize Certificates.

  • If it be determined to authorize the certificates of indebtedness in such manner and secured in such way that an election is considered to be required by the Constitution of Florida, such election may be called by the city council and held and conducted in the manner provided by Florida Statutes ch. 103, as now existing or hereafter amended, except that notice of such election shall not be required to be published more than once a week for two consecutive weeks, the election may be held at any time subsequent to the fourteenth day following the date of the first publication of the notice of election and the determination of the city council as to whether a majority of the freeholders who are qualified electors residing in the city participate in the election shall be final and conclusive.
